Why is Mellanox lacking behind on cable-distance? Most brands can do 400m with OM4 for a while now...
I have 2 sites with SX1036 switches, located at +- 400m from eachother and I would like to connect them as cheaply as possible, without losing my RDMA capabilities.
What would be the best way to tackle this problem? If possible I would like to be able to benefit from my 56Gbe aswell, but RDMA is the more important factor.
Am I right to think RDMA is only possible over Multimode fiber?
What would be the max distance I can cross using an tranceiver with my SX1036 switches while keeping RDMA ?
Please answer my question asap, I need to present the answer to my boss!
All advice is very much appreciated.
