IGMP join recognized; IGMP leave dropped (w/ or w/o fast-leave)

After correcting my request, report, and leave messages to set TTL to 1, I no longer saw the requests or joins dropped in the snooping statistics, but a leave frame that is identical except for two bytes (the type 0x17 and the corresponding checksum byte, both of which are seen as valid withing Wireshark) is still unrecognized and is dropped by the switch.  Thinking that maybe an unsolicited leave might need fast-leave enabled, I did that, to no avail.  What is going on here, and is there a way to debug it, despite the fact that I must disconnect from the CLI before connecting to eth1?  This seems to be the last hurdle, now that I've been able to get the sending host to spoof itself as a router in the absence of querier support on switch firmware 3.3.3500.
