Ophir,
Thank you for your response.
I am using a QSFP to SFP+ Mellanox adaptor – MAM1Q00A-QSA.
I am trying to use it with a QSFP to 4xSFP+ 3m breakout copper cable form Amphenol – PN - 621700003.
So I have one SFP+ end in the adaptor in a QSFP port of a Brocade switch.
The SFP+ is not being recognized in the port – the read from the EEPROM fails.
Then I will move the failed SFP+ end to and other 10G port( previously working fine there) and it fails .
I believe the EEPROM is being damaged.
I don’t see any issues with active optical SFPs of a copper SFP to SFP+ cables.
Tried the usial trouble shooting – it is not adaptor or cable , I can easily repeat it, though I am reluctant to do it and damage more cables.
Any idea will be greatly appreciated. Also if you could provide a schematic on the little PCB , it will be great . I see a bus switch – is it on the I2C lines?
Thank you,
Vera
